Overturn Effort Moves Forward in Texas

The news has been very quiet lately on the efforts in Texas to overturn Gov. Rick Perry's mandate that young girls be given the HPV vaccine. Thus, this blog's been quiet.

But, the effort moves ahead. From KWTX.COM, this report on the April 10 scheduled hearing of the Senate Health & Human Services Committee that will hear the Senate's version of the bill to block Perry's HPV mandate.

Noteworthy details:

The state Senate Health and Human Services Committee has scheduled an April 10 hearing on a bill that would bar the state from adding the human papillomavirus vaccine to the list of required shots for school attendance.

The House overwhelmingly passed the bill last month, and 16 senators are co-sponsoring an identical proposal.
